Heather has been teaching Pilates since 2010 and is the proud owner of Core Pilates and Yoga. She discovered an early love of movement through dance, and after many years of performing and choreographing she discovered Pilates and loved the graceful, intuitive yet challenging nature of the movement.
Heather’s style is intuitive and focused, and she coaches her clients to a deeper awareness of movement and strength, moving beyond functional training and toward integration and awareness of the whole body. Before moving back to her hometown of St. Paul, her first years of teaching Pilates took place in a physical therapy clinic in Southern California. She loves the challenge of helping people overcome injuries and guiding them to new movement patterns that support healthy alignment and functional movement. After a decade in the industry, she can confidently say that the Pilates method changes lives and heals bodies!!
Heather loves to use many different modalities and is trained in TRX, Yoga (RYT 230 Yoga Center of Minneapolis), Personal Training (NASM) and also teaches dance and barre. In 2016 she completed her Holistic Health Coach certification through the Institute of Integrative nutrition. She completed the Balanced Body comprehensive teacher training in 2012 and continues to deepen her knowledge through regular continuing education courses all around the country (It might be her favorite part of the job!)
In her spare time she enjoys long walks in Lowertown, going to see live music and theater, choreographing musicals, and directing/acting with her theater company Desperate for Approval.
