Jennifer came to Pilates after the death of her husband in 2011; the healing power of movement has had a profound impact on her life. Drawing from a variety of disciplines and perspectives enhances her ability to meet clients where they are on their health and wellness journey.
Jennifer did her first certification through Stott Pilates in Comprehensive Mat and Reformer, Injuries
and Special Populations, and Total Barre. She has completed additional certifications with Balanced Body in Cadillac, Chair and Barrels, and consistently continues her teacher training with advanced, ongoing education (including cadaver anatomy) with Rebecca Leone’s Safe Spine, Strong Back curriculum.
Currently, Jennifer is a student and teacher of acclaimed biomechanist and alignment expert, Katy Bowman. She has completed Katy Bowman’s Restorative Exercise Specialist program, a life-changing paradigm shift from the narrow scope of “exercise” to the expansive practice of integrating natural, whole-body movement in all facets of life. Jen’s ultimate goals are to keep clients safe while improving strength, flexibility, grace and ease, as well reducing pain.
She is a recent graduate from Hamline University’s MFA Creative Writing program, which allows her to fuse two passions — movement and writing.
Pilates and a whole-body movement practice continue to be inextricable in Jen’s life and healing journey. In her free time, she can be found hiking or snowshoeing with her endearingly neurotic mutt, Rocco; climbing trees and cartwheeling down hiking paths (really!); taking in live music or road trips with friends; creating epic messes in the kitchen under the guise of “cooking,” or some days, simply relaxing with a good book.
